Politics & Legal

I started at UC Davis attempting to complete an individual major (a major designed by the student and approved via a lengthy administrative process with the Letters & Science division) in Foreign Affairs and Technology Policy, but left for some years to return to working in Silicon Valley. Upon my return, my academic advisors to the major either retired or had gone to run the UC Washington Center, so I opted for some measure of expediency and graduated with a degree in Political Science. I had the great honor of taking coursework with some the best, including Emily O. Goldman, Randolph Siverson, and Donald Rothchild. As an undergrad, you really cannot do much better.

During my time at VA Linux Systems, I often had to work with the Legal department on various issues, including work on projects involving litigation, and subsequently, I occasionally do work researching or providing consultation to an attorney in private practice, primarily on issues related to software licensing, Open Source software, and whatever else comes around that is interesting.

I have done work with the legal non-profit Open Bar, and am most of the way through a paralegal certificate program.

As can be derived from that, I have a strong interest in all political events and phenomena, including areas of law, and organizational behavior.
